Morning Skincare Routine
Growing up, I always struggled with my skin to find the right products to treat my acne and were gentle enough for my sensitive skin. After trying countless drugstore skin care products with no results, it was then decided to visit a dermatologist. I was then prescribed Accutane, and while the prescription worked, the side effects from the medicine were intense - from dry skin and rashes to headaches and mood swings. I couldn’t wait until I could stop taking it. Accutane was banned but was later re-introduced as isotretinoin to treat severe acne.
After taking medication combined with a simple skincare routine, I couldn’t continue the prescription due to the intense side effects, so I searched for other available skincare products. I have to thank the rise of YouTube and social media for learning about Korean skincare. I soon started trying products mentioned in videos, and slowly, my skin began to heal.
